1st Meeting: Welcome back, PTA
The PTA is back at Washington Grove! In our first meeting, we met our newly elected board, talked membership dues, changes to the PTA bylaws, and Book Fair volunteer opportunities.

The board was officially elected at our first meeting on Sept. 29. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
What happened at our 1st meeting
- We discussed what IS the PTA and our ideas for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Ideas shared: family events, teacher appreciation, restaurant nights, WGES swag, and a way for PTA members to share their voice.
- Attendees joined the PTA using online payments, check, or cash.
- Bylaws update started: our bylaws are from 2022 and need a refresh. We will share the proposed changes for a vote in November.
What's next
- Join the PTA. Membership is per person and good through June 30, 2027. Anyone can attend, but only paid members can vote at our meetings on the budget, events, and bylaws.
- Help Ms. Cohen at the Book Fair. We need 2-3 volunteers at all times. Even one hour helps!
- Save the dates: a virtual special meeting in November to vote on the bylaw changes and the 2026–27 budget, and our second regular meeting in January. Signed-in PTA families see dates and times on the family calendar.
